You’re able to switch to the other pages of settings using tabs. When you initially load the plugin you will be on the Overview display. Loading a pre-made Performance is a great way to see how a sound designer has achieved the overall sound and how they utilized the Layers. A Performance using just one or two Layers can be enough for many musical tasks, but that’s up to you of course. If a Layer is enabled, clicking on its tab will switch to the settings for the particular Layer. On the left you’re able to enable/disable each of the four Layers. “modwheel affects Layers 1 and 3”).Īll four Layers are identical in their capabilities and each can use quite complex settings if the need arises. Of course, you can add your own notes anytime as performance reminders (e.g. I just thought some of the designers for the plugin would have a few notes included. While skimming through the long list of Performances, I thought it was slightly odd that none of them had any Notes added. It has an additional filter in the upper-left to narrow it down by type: Performances, Programs, Wav Sequences, Effects and more. If you want to check out most everything and not just the Performances, you can click on the Librarian at the upper-right. The long list of Performances is in the middle with its columns of metadata and on the right side is the Inspector. On the left side you can search by name, filter by categories, and if you have any alternate collections of Performances, you can select one of those in the lower-left. However, there are some settings at the Layer level that are only used while in a Performance, and I will touch on that subject later.Ĭlicking the name of the Performance at the top of the UI will open the browser. Programs in wavestate are basically just the settings for each Layer that can be used within a Performance. Actually, many of the different parts of wavestate have presets included that you can load in. A Performance can have up to 4,000 modulation targets, and there is no fixed upper limit on the number of overall modulation routings. In wavestate, a Performance can use up to four Programs layered together, and each Program can have its own effects and arpeggiator. In most plugins you would load a preset/patch. #KORG WAVESTATION REVIEW HOW TO#Before I get into all that, I wanted to give a brief description of the Performances that are available and how to browse through them. #KORG WAVESTATION REVIEW PC#The demo version will run for 20 minutes at a time.Īfter it was installed on my PC and loaded in my DAW, I was welcomed with the initial display which has a slightly busy looking display. #KORG WAVESTATION REVIEW MAC#For the Mac you’ll need macOS 10.13 High Sierra (or later), Apple M1 or better, or Intel Core i5 or better (Core i7 or better is recommended). #KORG WAVESTATION REVIEW WINDOWS 10#
